Along the NSW / QLD border to the west of the New England highway & forming the watershed between the two states lays the Roberts range. Named after Frances Edward Roberts who surveyed the border from the coast to the Dumeresq River in 1865 these mountains form a link between Girraween National Park in the east & the Sundown Range to the west.
The area today is almost as inaccessible as it was back then. You can only enjoy the views from the many vantage points because of private property access.
The rabbit fence runs along the ridges & we will travel it to the very top of the range.
The region consists of many hills dissected by deep ravines & the only way in is via tracks bulldozed in recent times for fire breaks.
This is traprock country & as such poses a distinct challenge to the people on the land. Experience a working cattle property & learn first hand how modern practices overcome these difficulties to produce beef to world standard. The tour takes place on private property which means you will not be bothered by other travelers.
Come & share with us a weekend with a difference & travel to a truly remote area, yet so close to civilisation. We guarantee you will remember this for a long time to come.
This tour is like none of the others. We are privileged to be able to show you around this part of Queensland. You will learn about the unique land forms as well as gain an insight into life on the land as it is today.

We haven't forgotten the four wheel driving either!

The tracks are steep in sections & loose underfoot as you climb & descent over broken traprock.
Clearance is not a big issue, however good throttle control & a keen eye are definitely needed.
Vehicles must have low range.
Off road trailers can be accommodated on this tour.
Of course a 4WD trip would not be complete without a challenge or two and we guarantee not to disappoint!
