This
is one of the 'closer to home' 4WD tag-a-long tours.
D'Aguliar
National Park is under 60 minutes drive from the Brisbane CBD.This
tour is excellent for those that are yet to experience the unknown
delight of 4wd'ing. Or perhaps for those with some experience you
may just want a day out in the country refreshing your 4wd skills.
In
the comfort of your own 4WD vehicle, on
some of the more adventurous 4wd tracks in the Mt Mee forest we
will share with you some of the tracks that you would not venture
along by yourself.
We
meet in the small township of Dayboro where we then venture off
to the southern edge of the forest taking you high into the range
to take in some of the lovely sheltered pockets of subtropical rainforest,
where the Piccabeen palm grows in abundance along the creeks
and not forgetting expanse of eucalypt woodland where evidence
is still seen from the timber getter days.
You
will cross creeks and tackle steep 4 wheel drive trails to vantage
points with spectacular views over Lake Wivenhoe and Somerset Dam.
The Great Dividing Range is the backdrop in the distance.
Grey gums, tallowwoods and spotted gums surrounds the lookout which
is situated on a high rocky outcrop.
On
occasions we are fortunate to spot Koalas high in the Eucalypt along
one of the 4wd tracks.
We
stop at the Gantry for a picnic lunch and have time for the kids
to kick a ball around or go for a rainforest walk along the boardwalk
track through a grove of piccabeen palms.
Near
days end we will take you through the last section of 4wd tracks
and
will test your 4 wheel driving skills finishing
the day not far from our start point at Dayboro
This
4WD tag-a-long tour begins at the beautiful township of Dayboro.
