An outback lifestyle
is a unique one, often full of hardships & challenges. But it
does have a way of bringing out the best in people. Some of the
characters are most definitely colourful but genuine in their hospitality.
A great way to experience
this very Australian life style is to join us on this holiday adventure.
If the walls of
these historic pubs could talk they would have plenty of yarns to
tell you, from stories of courage & survival to anecdotes about
local personalities past & present. So come & immerse yourself
in the lifestyle of each community.
Your evenings will
be spent soaking up the atmosphere over a hearty meal prepared by
the local.
Our
route includes those roads & 4WD tracks less travelled to link
us up with a collection of dinky-di aussie outback icons. Each one
with it's own claim to fame, for example; the oldest licensed pub
in Queensland & the pub furtherest from the sea in any direction.
More often than not the significance of these places is to do with
the old timers including push poets, hardy stockmen & even the
odd bushranger. Whatever the story, they are perfect places to wash
down the days travel dust.
South
West Queensland & the Channel Country are the setting for your
adventure & as you may expect it is not just about the pubs.
We visit two of Queensland most remote National parks & traverse
vast tracks of grazing land with family history going back to pioneers
like the Duracks. We also spend two nights camped on an outback
station where you can explore the 4wd tracks, visit the salt lakes
or just relax & experience life in the outback.
This is remote country & travellers need to be well prepared.
This is where group travel can bring peace of mind. Your guides
have extensive knowledge of the area & are well equipped to
handle any contingency
Bob
and Marian, will be your tour guides and will share with you their
knowledge and passion of this region along with what is gained from
your hosts each evening.
The
tour has been designed with families in mind with plenty of stops
as well as photo opportunities for those holiday memories. So
if you are looking for something a little different for the family
holiday, this could be it.
Evening meals are included and will be at an Iconic Outback Pub.
This tour is Off Road Trailer friendly.
